BRITS are raving about a product from B&M that’ll help you have a deep tan all summer - and you can protect yourself from sunburn while using it.

We’re a nation of tanners, with one survey finding that for 50% of Britons, coming home from holiday with a tan was the single most important reason for jetting off in the first place.

However, sunburn increases your risk of skin cancer.

So if you’re hellbent on getting a tan, it’s best to do it safely.

There’s two tanning products that beauty fans have discovered you can layer over SPF to ensure you don’t burn when bronzing your skin.

And the best bit? One of them is on sale in B&M for £3.49.

The Malibu Fast Tanning Oil is infused with Beta Carotene and Vitamin E and dubbed “perfect for dark skin that never burns” by the brand.

Tanning fans are also raving about Malbiu’s Fast Bronzing Tanning Butter which costs £5.49 and has various SPF strengths.

However, to fully protect your skin, it’s worth putting a higher SPF on before the butter.

Travel content creator Sophie Newing took to TikTok to rave about both products in a now viral video.

“I personally like to use SPF first then go in with the butter or the oil,” she said.

“I don’t use the butter or the oil on my face.

“I have quite sensitive skin so I found that it broke me out.

“In terms of guidance, I would definitely use SPF before and then apply the butter or the oil after.”

She added that the tub of butter lasted her through multiple holidays, and using both products helped her maintain a bronzed glow all summer last year.

SUN SAFETY

The NHS urges people to spend time in the shade when the sun is strongest.

In the UK, this is between 11am and 3pm from March to October.

You take due diligence to never burn and use at least factor 30 sunscreen.

It advises that when buying sunscreen, you should always check for at least 4-star UVA protection on the label.

WARNING

The NHS has outlined a warning for Brits looking to tan this summer

"Sunburn increases your risk of skin cancer. Sunburn does not just happen on holiday. You can burn in the UK, even when it's cloudy," NHS docs said.

"There's no safe or healthy way to get a tan. A tan does not protect your skin from the sun's harmful effects.

"Aim to strike a balance between protecting yourself from the sun and getting enough vitamin D from sunlight.

"People who spend a lot of time in the sun, whether it's for work or play, are at increased risk of skin cancer if they do not take the right precautions."

“As a guide, adults should aim to apply around six to eight teaspoons of sunscreen if you're covering your entire body,” NHS bosses added.

“If sunscreen is applied too thinly, the amount of protection it gives is reduced.

“If you're worried you might not be applying enough SPF30, you could use a sunscreen with a higher SPF.”

If you plan to be out in the sun long enough to risk burning, sunscreen needs to be applied twice: 30 minutes before going out and just before going out.

You should also apply it to your face, neck, ears and head, if you have thinning or no hair.
