Huge Noughties rocker reveals secret record label feud ahead of last-ever tour and tell all book
The band announced their shock split in 2022 but will perform for one last time this year
A HUGE noughties rocker has revealed a secret feud he had with his record label.
Deryck Whibley has spoken about how his former label once wanted to ditch a song that went on to be one of Sum41's most popular.

The now 44-year-old revealed about how he found out Blood in My Eyes was nominated for a Grammy in 2012.
But before its success, Deryck was under pressure to drop the song from the album as it was delaying its release.
Speaking to Ticketmaster, he explained: "I got a random call from our management whilst I was working alone in my home studio, and they told me that we were going to be nominated for a GRAMMY."
Deryck continued: "That record took a long time to make, and that song was one of the last ones written. The record company fought me tooth and nail to leave that song off because the record had been taking too long.

"It was overdue, and they refused to give us any more time. They cut the budget off, but I decided to pay for the rest of the record myself.
"I have a home studio, so whatever costs arose, I decided I’d pay for it.
"They couldn’t stop me, so I continued working on the song, which took me another six months or so. I finished it, got it on the record, and then it was nominated for a GRAMMY. It was a great ‘f*** you’ to the label.”
His revelation comes as Deryck and his Sum41 band mates will reunite for a final outing at this year's Download Festival.

Sum 41 got together in 1996, but entered the music world in 1999 when they were signed by Island Records who released their EP Half Hour of Power the next year.
However, it was not until 2001 that the mainstream listener took notice with the band's debut album All Killer No Filler in 2001, which included the huge hit single Fat Lip.
