Disgraced celebrity chef Pete Evans made a rare appearance alongside his teenage daughter Chilli on Monday as the pair went surfing together in Sydney

Pete, 51, who has vanished from public life in recent years due to his controversial views about Covid-19 and bizarre conspiracy theories, looked in good spirits as he splashed about with his lookalike daughter, 19.

Dressed in a black wetsuit that revealed his very slim frame, the former My Kitchen Rules host beamed while riding the waves on his blue surfboard.

His unusual mullet hairstyle, which features a rat tail at the back, flopped to the side, while his unshaven salt-and-pepper beard gave him a distinctly rugged look.

Despite suffering a number of wipeouts during the surfing session, Pete maintained a broad smile and could be seen chuckling and joking with Chilli.

'They know I have taken many different forms of medicines and drugs in the past. We have open and honest discussions about it so they are educated on the topic.'

The once popular TV star has attracted scrutiny for peddling anti-vaccine conspiracies. He was fined $25,000 for spruiking a light machine which he claimed helped cure Covid.

In May 2020, it was announced that Pete had parted ways with Channel Seven after 10 years as a judge on My Kitchen Rules alongside Manu Feildel and guest judge Colin Fassnidge.

It effectively marked his break from the mainstream after years of flirting with off-the-wall ideas during his tenure at the network.
