WWE superstar Becky Lynch revealed that she 'feared' having to tell Vince McMahon of her pregnancy in 2020.

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 Women's Money in the Bank match was won by Asuka. With the win, she also became the WWE Women's Champion as Lynch vacated the title while pregnant with her daughter Roux.

In her autobiography The Man: Not Your Average Girl, Lynch recalled the nervousness when she and her husband, Seth Rollins, found out about the pregnancy and realized they had to tell the WWE chief.

'I'll tell him [Vince] I can still keep working,' she wrote. 'You know, maybe I can… I could make a documentary about this.

'Or I could maybe be a consultant on the creative team or something? I scrambled for ways to save my job.'

McMahon has recently been in the heat of sexual trafficking accusations. In her autobiography, former UFC and WWE champion Ronda Rousey likened McMahon to Saudi Arabia.

''How am I going to tell Vince?' I turned to Colby [Seth Rollins] realizing that beyond our immediate family, the most powerful man in wrestling needed to be the first recipient of our news,' Lynch continued.

Lynch's worries went as far as getting yelled at or fired from the company. Rollins, however, said: 'I don't think so. But he'll probably be upset.'

Lynch later revealed that McMahon's reaction was far from what she expected. In a phone call, she told McMahon: 'We have a problem. I'm five weeks pregnant.' Before she could finish pitching an alternative, her boss cut her off, beaming with excitement.

'Congratulations! Oh my God Rebecca! That's fantastic news. Wow! I'm so happy for you!' McMahon responded, according to the book.

Lynch returned from maternity leave at Summer Slam the following year and famously defeated Bianca Belair in 26 seconds to win the Smackdown Women's title.

One of the most decorated WWE stars, Lynch has held the NXT Women's title, Raw Women's title twice, Smackdown Women's title four times, and the Women's tag team championship with Lita.

Lynch will face the current title holder, Rhea Ripley, at Wrestlemania 40 in April.
