Quinn Babcock, the construction and design operations lead at Block Renovation spoke exclusively with The U.S. Sun.

"Paint. One of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to update your porch or patio is with a fresh coat of paint on the floors or walls."

He also added some practical advice to make the area a comfortable space for regular use.

"Privacy screens," he said.

"Adding privacy screens can also improve the space aesthetically and make it feel more usable.

"There are a range of stylish and affordable ways to do this, from bamboo screens to wooden slats to fabric curtains."

"Plants," he said. "You can easily transform your outdoor space by incorporating plants — adding planters, hanging baskets, or vertical gardens.

"Depending on your budget, you could start from seeds, buy fully grown plants, or have a mix.

"Plants make spaces feel more alive and welcoming."

Adding throw pillows, outdoor rugs, or a piece of art can add some personality and flair to the space.

He also gave a golden suggestion on how to warm up the patio area aesthetically.

"Lighting," he said.

"Adding solar-powered lamps or string lights can create a cozy ambiance and make your outdoor space more usable at night.

"The costs can vary, with many solar lights being really affordable."

Babcock shared his final piece of advice, which is crucial to enjoying a patio for leisure.

"Furniture and decor," he said.

"Replacing or updating your furniture is a great way to enhance your patio or porch.
