EASTENDERS confirms Christmas storyline with bombshell in tonight’s episode.

The BBC soap has given its biggest hint yet towards this year’s festive episode by revealing that one resident is pregnant.

Viewers know Sonia Fowler has been undergoing IVF treatment in the hopes of having a baby with new love Reiss Colwell.

But after the nurse was warned her womb lining was thinner than ideal, she thought it wouldn’t happen.

However in tonight’s episode it was time for Sonia to take a pregnancy test.

With Reiss annoying her about the pronunciation of the word “urine”, Sonia stormed off in a huff to do it herself.

And she got the happy news that she is pregnant.

When she told Reiss, he too was overjoyed - although he is still hiding the truth of how he funded their IVF rounds.

Viewers know he stole money from his comatose wife’s accounts in order to pay to knock Sonia up.

But the timing of the pregnancy being in the early days means one thing - that the soap may have just confirmed its big Christmas storyline.
