Britain’s Got Talent fans claim show star ‘faked’ tears over standing ovation after spotting ‘clue’

BRITAIN'S Got Talent hopeful Geneviève Côté has been accused of 'faking her tears' on stage after she received a standing ovation from the audience.
The Québec impressionist, 60, wowed the audience, Ant and Dec, and the judges alike on Sunday night's show as the long-running competition returned to ITV.

Appearing on stage, Geneviève revealed her unique talent for recreating nature sounds, mimicking the sounds of trees, running horses, birds and animals like a nature documentary.
Bruno Tonioli was seen sitting opened mouthed at the talent, with Simon Cowell beaming before saying to the others, "Brilliant, right?"
As she ended her routine, she was met with a standing ovation from all four judges - completed by Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon - as well as the entire watching crowd.
Simon was even encouraged to show off his Sir David Attenborough impression.

Overcome with emotion, Geneviève looked touched at the positive response before clutching her chest and crying on stage.
However, considering the hopeful has already appeared in THREE separate iterations of the show, some viewers declared it a 'set up'.
'The woman that was doing the nature sounds was on Canada's got talent. She got a big standing ovation then," one fan ranted online.
"So when she started shedding tears on BGT it was an act. She knew the audience was going to love it"

"She has been on AGT and is a well known in the USA. Another one brought in," said a second.
While a third added: "She has been on another got talent before in a different country, this show is so fixed!"
Before appearing on Britain's Got Talent this weekend, Geneviève made her debut on Canada's Got Talent with the same skillset.
The appearance, which aired in March last year, was so impressive she earned Howie Mandel's Golden Buzzer, and made it through to the finale.
After that, towards the end of 2023, she was seen on 'La France a un incroyable talent' - the equivalent of France's Got Talent.
In that, she also earned a golden buzzer and was sent through to the semi-finals by judge Karine Le Marchland.
But she clearly left an impression on Mandel, who later brought her back for America's Got Talent: Fantasy League, which started airing in the US in January 2024.
Britain's Got Talent allows anyone to take part in the competition, regardless of experience.
