POPULAR French singer Kendji Girac has been seriously injured after being shot in the chest by a handgun.
Girac, 27, - who won The Voice France back in 2014 - claims he was the one who mistakenly pulled the trigger.

But French police are now investigating the shooting as an attempted murder.
The singer was found laying outside his Biscarrosse holiday caravan barely breathing early on Monday morning.
Officers say he told them he "shot himself" with a Colt 45 which he had bought from a flea market.
On Tuesday, a statement by Oliver Janson, the prosecutor in nearby Mont-de-Marsan, said an investigation had been opened for attempted murder.

Janson said: "Investigations are actively continuing to reconstruct the course of the evening, through the carrying out of technical, ballistic and forensic examinations and the collection of testimonies."
He said there remained huge inconsistencies about what Girac said happened.
"He explained neither the circumstances of this purchase nor the reasons which would have led him to handle this weapon in the middle of the night."
The star was quickly transported to the University Hospital in Bordeaux and is thought to be awake and conscious after the shooting.

But the father-of-one's medical condition is still being described as "life threatening" at the moment.
Emilio, a man who claimed to be Girac's uncle, said: "This isn't a gangland shooting. It's an accident.
"He was playing with the thing and bam! We were quietly playing the guitar. An accident can happen at any time."
A source close to the investigation said: "He was at a travellers’ camp where he was blasted by the firearm.
"Gendarmes were alerted at around 5.30am, and when they arrived they were confronted by around 20 people who refused to communicated any information.
"The emergency services meanwhile evacuated a seriously wounded man who had been shot in the chest, and he was rushed to hospital."
Forensics experts are now examining his partner after it was revealed by an investigating source he was staying with his unnamed partner and their young daughter.
The same source later claimed it was a potential "domestic incident" that was to blame for the horrific injuries.
Nobody else was injured in the blast in the early hours of the Monday morning.
They claimed it was most likely an accident that caused the severe injuries.
Police were seen searching the camp on Monday for any information and it remained cordoned off.
Girac first shot to fame in 2013 when his uncle posted a video to YouTube of him covering a popular French hit song called Bella.
It quickly went viral and landed Girac a spot on France's version of The Voice.
Girac went on to dominate the third year and ultimately took home the crown with more than 51 per cent of the final vote.
