An outage stopping customers of Suncorp Australia from accessing their bank accounts has since been resolved, the bank has confirmed.

Several customers took to social media, complaining they could not access their accounts through the Suncorp app or via the website on Tuesday afternoon.

“I had a heart attack,” said one person on Twitter.

“Very annoying, haven’t been able to access my own money for over an hour,” said another person on Twitter.

A spokesperson for the bank said it was working to resolve the issue, although, could not confirm when it would be fixed.

“Suncorp Bank is currently experiencing an unexpected outage impacting banking services. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible,” a company spokesperson said.

“I can confirm that customer’s accounts are secure.”

The bank later confirmed the issue had been resolved on Tuesday evening and services had been restored.

“We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused our customers and confirm bank accounts remained secure the whole time,” it said in a statement.
