Hundreds had descended on the park for Eid al-Fitr, an Islamic day of celebration marking the end of a month of fasting during daylight for Ramadan.

The event was hosted by Masjid As-Salaam, also known as the Berkeley Mosque, and advertised as a family-friendly festival with a number of amusement rides.

More to come.
