Dog walker recovering in hospital after being TRAMPLED… by a furious Highland cow

They are normally placid beasts whose iconic looks are beloved by Scots and tourists alike.

However, a Highland cow gave a dog walker a terrifying reminder of their strength as it launched a sustained attack.

Monika Bresler, 45, was walking her dog near Gleniffer Braes Country Park in Paisley when the cow charged at her.

Her dog was able to run away while she hid in bushes.

But the cow found her and knocked her to the ground before striking her on the chest with its hoof, causing a collapsed lung and rib fractures.

Ms Bresler said she heard her ribs ‘cracking’ during the attack. She wrote on social media: ‘Several cows emerged from bushes, one with a newborn.

‘After spotting my dog, the cow started charging at us. I thought we would be fine jumping into a bush and hiding but the cow ran after me, managed to knock me off my feet and attempted to lay on me, squashing me into the ground. It stamped on me crushing several ribs and making my lung collapse.’

Dog walkers came to her aid and the IT manager spent four days in hospital before being discharged on Saturday.
