WHEELER Dealers presenter Mike Brewer has revealed he's selling a fully restored 1980s Ford Transit van for 50 times its original value.

The TV host is selling the MK1 Ford Transit in the upcoming Iconic Auctioneers sale which offers low-mileage models of some of the most popular commercial motors in UK history.

On his popular show, Mike buys a vehicle and turns it over to his mechanics for repairs so he can later sell it for a profit.

The TV star has been presenting for more than 20 years.

He had the van fully restored on the show which is now worth 50 times more than its original value and is set to sell for £60,000.

The MK1 Ford had been used as an ex-German Fire Service truck but rarely made it out of the garage.

It had just 10,000 miles when Mike purchased the LWB twin-wheeler for an episode of Wheeler Dealers.

This was one of his favourite restoration projects, he claimed.

However the van is not the only motor Mike plans on selling at the upcoming auction.

PORSCHE

The star will also sell two iconic Porsche cars alongside the van.

Petrolheads will have the opportunity to get their hands on a resto-mod 911SC with styling influence from the '73 RS.

It has also undergone mechanical upgrades, now boasting 230bhp.

The auctioneer said: "Mike had no intention of selling the Transit, or either of his two Porsches also in our sale, but a rather exciting (and probably expensive) project is on the horizon, so a bit of space needs to be created."

It is currently at auction for an eye-watering £40,000 and £50,000.

Last week Porsche was labelled as a top classic car brand desired by drivers, alongside Aston Martin.

Stewart Barnett from InsureMy said: "Cars – particularly classic cars - can carry a lot of memories and emotions, and their owners can become very attached and want to know that they are protected so that they can be enjoyed for years to come."

It comes after the Wheeler Dealer hosts revealed its 28th series is yet to be renewed.

And Mike Brewer has picked out three modern classic motors that petrolheads can buy right now and possibly sell for a profit in the future.
