Well, as bizarre as it may sound, one expert from @cotswoldclean recently explained why you'd never see the loo essential in their toilet.

Taking to TikTok, the guru said that the toilet brush was just one of the many things they ''hated cleaning'' and ''would never have''.

Whether it's the regular brush or the rubber version - which was also recently dubbed ''shocking'' by another expert - the professional insisted using them was simply ''unhygienic''.

Instead, they urged in the video, stick to bleach and a sponge - however, don't forget to protect your hands and skin by wearing rubber gloves.

Black glass furniture

Sure, it may look chic but, as noted by @cotswoldclean, any black furniture will be a nightmare to keep spotless.

This applies especially to black glass furniture, such as an elegant coffee table that will ''never be dust-free'', as well as black matte fixtures.

Recently, another guru in the industry warned that this material is an ''absolute limescale magnet'' which is ''virtually impossible to keep nice''.

Maintaining black taps can also be a nightmare in hard water areas.

Shark hoover

They may be all the rage amongst cleaning super fans - but even priced at an eye-watering £200 at Argos, the viral Shark vacuum cleaners were also dubbed an ''ick'' by the expert.

Despite all the hype, they described the cult buy as ''heavy'' and ''not very flexible'' - and the hoover was even said to ''get blocked by dust''.

Hose taps

Another popular household item you are unlikely to see at the pro's home is a hose tap - and in the clip, they advised viewers to steer clear from getting one either.

This is because the taps can ''never be cleaned properly'', as ''all the dirt and limescale gets trapped''.

'Rather be unhygienic with toilet brush'

Since being shared on the platform, the clip has racked up more than 213k views - however, despite the advice, the opinion was split.

Many TikTok users, for example, had an issue with ditching the loo brush, with one wondering: ''Sorry but how are toilet brushes unhygienic?

''What do you do with your brush? it's a cleaning aid. Bet you put bleach on mould too.''

Someone else agreed, adding: ''You never gonna see me putting my hands inside a toilet, even with gloves. I’ll keep my toilet brush.''

Another reckoned: ''Bleach is too toxic to regularly inhale. Rather be unhygienic with toilet brush.''
