Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia LIVE RESULTS: Garcia SHOCKS Haney to win after knocking down champ THREE times – reaction

RYAN GARCIA has stunned Devin Haney to secure a majority decision victory in Brooklyn.

Garcia knocked down Haney THREE times in the incredible win - though he will not take home Haney's WBC super lightweight title.

It comes after Garcia weighed in 3.1lb overweight on Friday, meaning The Dream's 140lb strap was not up for grabs in New York.

    Ryan Garcia appeared to suggest he missed weight on PURPOSE for his fight against Devin Haney.

    He posted on X. before the fight: "I feel great and I got a 3 pound advantage. Let’s gooo hahahahaa. Winners do what they have to do, I’m still sharp."

    Garcia added separately: "Why would I force myself to make weight so I can be weak. Nah, I’m here to win. That’s it."

    The boxing brothers got together with a group of pals to take in the big Barclays Center fight.

    Garcia's erratic behaviour in the build-up to the bout had people genuinely concerned for his wellbeing.

    No title was on the line after the 25-year-old missed weight, but Haney's undefeated record was still there to be blemished.

    The reigning champion went into the fight as favourite, particularly given Garcia's antics.

    Devin Haney knocked back rumours that he had broken his jaw in his encounter with Ryan Garcia.

    Breaking his silence on social media, he wrote: “Alhamdulillah Allah is the perfect planner he makes no mistakes.

    “Fought like a true champion. Got up off the canvas & kept fighting. I am 100% ok & would love to do it again while we both make weight.

    “I have no broken anything btw way like I said I’m OK.

    "Same way you dish be able to take it.. I will be back InshaAllah."

    Ryan Garcia wore a crown worth $1million (£808,000) for his ring walk before fighting Devin Haney.

    Garcia scored three knockdowns as he beat Haney via majority decision, handing his rival his first professional loss.

    The 25-year-old headed to the ring draped in a white robe as he donned a diamond encrusted crown.

    The crown held 1kg of gold as well as over 400 carats of diamonds and was made by Texas-based jeweller The Ice Champ.
