JIMMY White is one of the top snooker players in the UK ever since his debut more than 40 years ago.

Who is Jimmy White?

James Warren White is an English professional snooker player who has won four senior World titles, and two out of the three majors during this career.

He was born on May 2, 1962, in Tooting, London.

White has the nickname "The Whirlwind" because of his fluid, swift and attacking style of play.

At the age of nine he became interested in snooker and in 1979 he won the English Amateur Championship.

In 1980 he became the youngest ever winner of the World Amateur Snooker Championship.

In February 2024, it was announced that Hollywood is filming a biopic about White and that actor Ray Winstone is set to be playing his manager.

White had five children with his wife Maureen, but the marriage didn't last.

He began dating promotions girl Jade Slusarczyk in 2018.

She is 23 years his junior.

In his autobiography, Jimmy White: Second Wind, the snooker ace revealed he had a secret crack cocaine habit at the height of his fame.

What tournaments has Jimmy White won?

White has won two major snooker tournaments in his life.

In 1992 he won the UK Championship and in 1984 the Masters.

He also has a total of ten ranking titles and he is twelfth on the all-time list of ranking event winners.

He is a six times World Championship finalist, coming incredibly close to grabbing the title in 1994, losing 18-17 to Stephen Hendry.

White also played for England's snooker team and won the Nations Cup and World Cup in team events.

What illness does Jimmy White have?

In 1995 Jimmy White was diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Around the same time his brother had been diagnosed with lung cancer.

White beat his cancer after successful surgery and went on to have a fifth child with wife Maureen.

 "It turned out to be two malignant growths and the doctor told me I would have to have the testicle removed.
