Former actress Deborah joined the Cobbles in 1990 and lodged on the Street at number seven.

While at uni she worked at the Rovers, and also dated a number of the men on the Street, including Des Barnes.

But shortly after graduating from university she headed off to Mexico, but later returned in 1996.

Curly Watts showed an interest in Angie while she was living on Coronation Street.

Corrie has some big changes in store — swapping its Co-op for a Sainsbury’s

Earlier this month it was revealed that the show bosses slashed the budgets - leaving the cast fearing for their futures.

According to the Sunday Mirror, show bosses have decreased the number of extras used, and increased “back-to-back” filming.

An insider told the publication: “The changes haven’t gone down well with the cast.

“Many of them are panicking about what these cuts mean for their futures. The Corrie cast is absolutely massive – it has well over 50 cast members in total – and some of them haven’t filmed for weeks, so they are starting to get really worried about the axe falling on them before long.

“There is currently a real feeling of disquiet behind the scenes and people are openly sharing their concerns.”

This week The Sun revealed Alex Bain is struggling to come to terms with his exit from the soap.

The young actor has played Simon Barlow for the past 15 years.

An insider said: “Alex has been putting on a brave face saying he quit the show but in reality bosses decided it was time for him to move on.

“It’s been incredibly emotional for Alex and he really doesn’t want to leave at all.
