Speaking at the launch of series 17, Simon said: "I always thought, if we can get three or four years out of this, it'll be amazing.
"Then you reach ten years and you think, that's a real milestone.
"Now so many people come from all over the world to compete.
"It's not just about winning the show, it's about having that viral moment, which can literally change your life overnight.

"I think that's why people are going to come back year after year after year and keep competing and getting better.
"That's what I'm seeing - the acts are actually, thank god, actually getting better.
"I think Britain's Got Talent is going to be here for a long, long time. I really do."
Simon has been the BGT head judge since its inception in 2007.

He first came to national attention as the hard-to-please judge on Pop Idol, before he created The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent.
Despite overseeing several of his American talent shows, he has remained committed to BGT and has only been away during the 2011 audition rounds.

Amanda Holden is the longest-serving regular BGT judge, and has appeared on every series since the show started in 2007.
Over the years on the show, the sexy star has become best known for daring outfits which have caused quite a stir with viewers.
Alesha joined the panel in 2012, sitting next to David Walliams who was replaced last year by Bruno Tonioli.
Britain’s Got Talent returns this Saturday at 7.30pm and Sunday at 7.40pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
