THE Big Brother house is to be moved  — because drunken revellers on the canal outside are disrupting filming.

Producers have yet to be officially told whether the show, both the regular and celebrity versions, will be renewed for a second series.

But they are confident enough to start planning a move from the current location in North West London.

A TV insider said: “During filming of the most recent series’ they found that quite a few barge and boat users on the canal were pulling up and being quite lairy which disrupted filming.

“Of all the issues to arise, this was not on their radar.

"In fact, the bosses thought filming in studios next to a waterway would be a bonus.

“They built the entrance to the BB house right next to the bank with the potential to have housemates brought up to the front in a boat aping the James Bond movies.

"But then they found out it wasn’t a river but a canal with a maximum speed limit of 4mph so the idea was abandoned.”

Producers want more space to rebuild the BB house — and have time in which to find the perfect spot.

ITV has yet to publicly confirm whether they will commission more series. Though all the signs are they will as they've put out casting calls for contestants.

ITV’s head of reality TV, Paul Mortimer, has said: “I can’t imagine that we’re in it just to do two, six-week runs across 2023 and 2024.

"This is the start of it — so just watch this space.”
