Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stops these pharmacists and pharmacy technicians from delivering pharmaceutical care to the patients who need it most at the Andrew Rader U.S. Army Health Clinic.
While the world has been consumed with the chaos caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the ARUSAHC pharmacy team has worked tirelessly to ensure no disruptions to patient care, despite the pandemic.
This year’s National Pharmacy Week, Oct. 18 to 22, offered a unique moment to recognize the invaluable contribution pharmacists and technicians have made during the COVID-19 pandemic.
National Pharmacy Week was created to recognize the outstanding contributions pharmacists and pharmacy technicians make every day to patient care.
“The Andrew Rader Clinic Pharmacy team is a tremendous team committed to the mission and our patients, true partners committed to wellness and readiness,” said Lt. Col. Jessica Milloy, the commander of the Andrew Rader U.S. Army Health Clinic. “Their dedication in providing safe, consistent, accessible, high-quality, pharmacy services is truly excellent. This professional team of skilled technicians and clinicians embodies the true meaning of team. We are extremely grateful for this remarkable team.”
While not designed for curbside operations, the ARUSAHC team ensured all hands were on deck for seamless operations for the processing of more than 200,000 outpatient prescriptions.
Maj. Todd Reagan, the outgoing ARUSAHC chief of pharmacy, praised his team’s efforts to keep patients safe while facilitating operations.
“Our pharmacists and technicians, as well as the rest of the Andrew Rader clinic, were the key to success for the pharmacy during the pandemic,” Reagan noted the dire circumstances when curbside operations went into effect.
“The entire Andrew Rader team, from the commander to the youngest enlisted Soldier, quickly stepped up and stepped in when it mattered most to volunteer their time at the pharmacy.”
Reagan, an activated U.S. Army Reservist, stepped up to lead the charge.
“I’m really thankful for the wonderful pharmacy team we have at the Andrew Rader clinic,” he said. “I couldn’t be successful without their support and I’ll forever
be grateful.”
Milloy helped kick off National Pharmacy Week with a cake cutting ceremony, along with Reagan and Spc. Lacrisha Rader, at the ARUSAHC pharmacy.
According to Rader, “the past year was hard, but it allowed us to come together and serve our patients no matter what was going on.”
As the clinic celebrates pharmacy week, the ARUSAHC Pharmacy team stands ready to provide to serve as partners to wellness and readiness for warriors, military Families and all those entrusted to the staff’s care.
