A SHOPPER has sparked outrage after coming up with a hack to get around Sainsbury's Freddo limit.

The supermarket announced that they were returning the chocolate frogs to their original price of 10p for the first time since 2007 in a Nectar card deal running from 17th to 23rd April.

They put a 30 per customer limit on the Cadbury treats, but one woman took to Facebook to share her trick for getting around the limitation.

Posting a picture of her box of 90 Freddos on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, Lisa wrote: "Thanks for the heads up.

"Loads left at Chesterfield Sainsbury’s.

"No max limit if you use self scanner. 10p each!"

"30 per person, 10p with Nectar card," one person commented on the post.

To which Lisa replied: "Staff said no limit if do on self scanner!"

"I just did self scanner would only do 30," another replied.

"Try it as another scan, worked for me and use different scanner," Lisa suggested.

But someone else insisted: "That’s not right!"

"This is a bargain page, not a page to tell people what they can and can't spend their money on," Lisa hit back.

With the other woman replying: "No bargains for some when others have taken more than they should!"

"30 per visit. Someone went before me through with 30 then went back for another 30 no problem," another wrote.

As the woman responded: "Defeats the object to stop greed!"

"There is a limit of 30 for a reason so that everyone can enjoy a bargain and not be so selfish," she added.

With Lisa replying: "It's 30 per transaction.

"The staff in my supermarket weren't bothered how many I bought and neither was I!

"I bought 90 and me and my family will enjoy them for weeks to come."

"Was told earlier in the day by a staff member they saw one person buy two whole boxes!" someone else said.

"I get it’s a bargain but come on at least leave some for others to enjoy……

"Cue the comments for you snooze you loose but when working nights you kinda end up missing out either way!"

"Just sad people not thinking of those poor children whose parents struggle to buy treats and this being affordable could have made a child’s day," another agreed.

"Empty boxes at my local but spotted one above and got security guard to get them down for me."
