  • Taylor discusses The Anthology

In the early hours of Friday morning, Taylor Swift shocked the music world by dropping FIFTEEN extra songs for her new album The Tortured Poets Department.

The additional songs, titled The Anthology, are available to stream now.

Discussing the additions, Taylor said: "An anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time - one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure.

"This period of the author’s life is now over, the chapter closed and boarded up. There is nothing to avenge, no scores to settle once wounds have healed.

"And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it. And then all that’s left behind is the tortured poetry."

Taylor and Joe Alwyn dated for six years, starting in 2017, before reportedly calling it quits in April 2023.

A source told People the split was largely caused by "differences in their personalities."

In The Tortured Poets Department, released April 19, 2024, The US superstar appears to have let rip her wrath on the Brit actor, 33, hinting he cheated on her and broke her heart.

  • Inside Taylor's 'casual' fling with British star

In May 2023, The Sun reported that Taylor Swift was dating The 1975 frontman, Matty Healy.

At the time, a source said the pair were "madly in love."

"It’s super-early days, but it feels right. They first dated, very briefly, almost ten years ago but timings just didn’t work out," the source continued.

A source told People: "She had fun with him, but it was always casual. They are no longer romantically involved."

  • Which songs could be about Matty Healy?

Fans believe the savagely titled song, The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived, from Taylor Swift's new album is about her ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn – with some lyrics suggesting he cheated and broke her heart.

Taylor and Joe, who started dating in 2016, shocked fans when their relationship came to an abrupt end last year.

The song includes the scathing words: “And you’ll confess why you did it . . . And I’ll say good riddance. ’Cos it wasn’t sexy once it wasn’t forbidden.

“You didn’t measure up in any measure of a man. I would have died for your sins but instead I just died inside.”

Taylor goes on: “You deserve prison, but you won’t get time. You will slide into inboxes and slip through the bars.”

She also jibes: “In plain sight you hid but you are what you did. And I’ll forget you, but I’ll never forgive the smallest man who ever lived.”

We probably could have finessed it that way, but I think it's just that much more of an experience if you're in the pit; if you're in the madness with all the fans."
