George Zimmerman defense consultant praises 'perfect' jury for Trump: 'Couldn’t ask for better'

Jury consultant Robert Hirschhorn, who was “instrumental” in helping acquitted Trayvon Martin killer George Zimmerman pick his jury, praised the selection in former President Donald Trump’s “hush money” case, telling CNN’s Erin Burnett “you couldn’t ask for a better jury out of New York.”

Twelve jurors and one alternate were seated on Thursday at the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse to hear District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against the former president. Trump is charged with 34 felony counts relating to “falsifying business records for his alleged role in a hush money scheme before the 2016 election,” CNN reports.

Speaking with Burnett on Thursday, Hirschhorn commended the picks as “the perfect jurors” for Trump, insisting the former president’s “got a great jury.”

“Here's the takeaway from today, Erin,” Hirschhorn told CNN. “… The former president got another couple of great jurors on his jury.”

Hirschhorn was especially effusive in his praise of Juror 2, who’s described by CNN as “an investment banker who has a Master's degree.”

CNN reports:

[Juror 2] lives with his wife and does not have any kids. He follows Trump's TruthSocial posts as well as Michael Cohen on X, formerly known as Twitter. He said he's followed Trump since he became president and has seen quotes from Trump’s book, ‘The Art of the Deal."

“[Trump’s] got a really good jury and instead of complaining about all the things … he’s got a great jury and I’m telling you [Trump] ought to be sending them good energy, because I think you couldn't ask for a better jury out of New York,” Hirschhorn told Burnett.

"He’s absolutely going to get a fair jury,” Hirschhorn insisted.

Expounding on his praise of the jury later in the segment, Hirschhorn told CNN, “If this were a street crime case, this jury would would convict Trump in a heartbeat.”

“But this is a false business records case, right?” Hirschhorn continued, noting Bragg’s case against Trump “is about business records.”

“And that's why what Trump wants is a really smart jury,” Hirschhorn said. "The kind of people that would never vote for him as president are they exactly the same kind of people that would find him ‘not guilty’ when he's a defendant. So I understand that these may not be the kind of people that President Trump likes, but they're the perfect jurors for him.”
