PISGAH, Ala. (WHNT) — Officials in Jackson County say they feel there is no danger at Pisgah High School after a female student made a threat on Tuesday afternoon.

Jackson County Sheriff Rocky Harnen said the sheriff’s office was called by the principal and made aware of a verbal threat made by a female student to another student on Tuesday afternoon. There may have also been threats made through text messages, he said.

The sheriff’s office looked into it after receiving the call from the school and said it ‘does not feel there is a threat at this point.’ The student is no longer at the school and doesn’t have access to weapons or a vehicle, according to Harnen.

Harnen said deputies went to the school this morning, and investigators spoke with the principal and made a report this morning, which will be passed onto the appropriate authorities.

Investigators are also still looking into the incident, and Harnen added that the sheriff’s office and school are continuing to take precautions.
