Anya Taiga (@anya_taiga) demonstrated her own beauty regimen while she called out the American self-care routines in a viral video on TikTok.

Taiga covered the cosmetic questions from top to bottom — including face and body — wondering about their popularity.

She tackled eyelash techniques that are common in America but that Russians left in the 1990s.

Taiga also inquired about certain spa-related treatments that are popular in America.

JUST WHY?

First, she questioned eyelash-lengthening treatments and how they're performed in the US.

She specifically called out "cluster" and "strip" extensions for the lashes.

"I know in America it's really popular - girls glue their lashes," she said.

"But in Russia, it's something that stayed back in the '90s," she added. "Because individual lash extensions are so affordable, so everybody does that."

Strip and cluster false lashes adhere to the eye with a special glue, which can sometimes show and become a dead giveaway.

Individual lash extensions tend to look more natural as they are attached to the natural lashes.

NAILED IT

Taiga also called out the American manicure — questioning the dated techniques used.

She said that acrylic manicures with glued-on nail extensions, also known as tips, are a no-go.

The beauty fan added that the technique has been long gone from Russian nail salons — citing that they ruin the nail.

She specified that Russian women prioritize benefiting from treatments.

For this reason, she said that she chooses to go with gel manicures for better nail health.

The Russian manicure is popular worldwide and known for helping beauty fans grow out their natural nails.

FACE IT

Taiga also said the American spa day may need some tender love and care of its own.

She pointed out that facials are typically seen as a fun activity in the states rather than a serious beauty treatment.

She added that Russian women visit the cosmetologist monthly, recommending it for flawless skin.

She sees the treatment as more of an upkeep than a casual pastime.

CROWD REACTION

Several TikTokers weighed in on the beauty concerns in the comment section of the viral video.

"I love Russian beauty tips they’re so honest, but you just know they’re telling you the right things," one said.

"I live in Ireland but a Russian girl is doing my lashes next month, excited now, she was trained in Russia," another added.

"Got my first Russian manicure last week and I will never go back, it actually stays on my nails and I hate wearing acrylic," a third commented.
