Jontay Porter bet millions before NBA gambling investigation

Jontay Porter is a gambler, according to an Action Network report Tuesday.

Porter reportedly bet millions of dollars from 2021-23 spanning more than 1,000 wagers and was “firing all the time” as a VIP member of FanDuel Sportsbook, per Action Network.

The report comes as the NBA is investigating Porter for potential stat manipulation where he was, by far, the most heavily bet Under player on DraftKings on two different occasions, most recently relating to a March 20 game against the Kings where he took himself out of the contest after three minutes.

Porter was a member of three different G-League teams at that point, but the wagers came to a halt once the forward signed with the Toronto Raptors on a two-way contract, the report stated.

Action Network reports that Porter did not bet on basketball — professional or college — during this time while betting on FanDuel.

This is a crucial detail, as Porter and any other basketball player under the collective bargaining agreement is allowed to bet on sports that does not involve basketball.

However, The Post reported on March 26 that Porter’s day-trading X account @taytrades11 boasted about winning a March Madness parlay in 2022.

He was not a part of a G-League affiliate team during that time, so, in theory, he had not broken any rules.

But given the accusations being made against Porter, which NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said would be worthy of a lifetime ban if confirmed, it could be a sign that Porter is involved in the gambling world.

Betting on the NBA?

Porter, looked to be reviving his NBA career prior to DraftKings notifying the NBA of suspicious betting patterns involving him.

One X user posted a wild eight-leg parlay that won $1.2 million on Porter’s Unders in that Kings game from March 20.
