‘Way too clingy’ people slate wedding guest’s ‘skin tight and sexy’ dress and beg her to size up

“My general rule is no butt ruching at a wedding," one person warned

THE excitement felt to receive an invitation to a friend’s wedding is often quickly overshadowed by a wave of outfit anxiety.

Can I wear a dress? How short is too short, and of course how does one not upstage the bride?

Deciding what to wear for a wedding, even when it isn't your big day, can be quite a task

A second opinion on an outfit is much needed when it comes to big events like weddings, which is why there’s a whole forum on Reddit called ‘Wedding Attire Approval,’ dedicated to the discussion.

In a post by a young lady who goes by the name of @Accomplished_egg5387 there was unanimous disapproval slung at her about her outfit choice.

Posing in an open back figure hugging teal silk dress she flaunts her gown hoping for the approval she needed to feel confident about her chosen wedding attire.

Commenters in the thread didn’t hold back.

One commented saying: “Way too tight. When the dress clings to the inner thigh that’s a no for a wedding. Not saying you don’t look good in it to be abundantly clear. Just not wedding appropriate.”

Another chimed in saying: “I think the colour is fine and the dress looks great on you. I'd wear it for a date night or something. But for a wedding, the material is super clingy, and it's too tight.”

Others were not so tactful with their delivery.

One commenter was very blunt and replied to the post saying: “No, it doesn’t fit you.”

Another wrote: “My general rule is no butt ruching at a wedding.”

“The pulling and puckering are the first things I noticed. You need to go up at least one size.”

Other commenters softened the blow, but agreed that the dress was too tight to be worn as a wedding guest.

The Reddit commenter wrote: “Such a cute dress and you look great but since it’s skin tight and has an open back, it's probably too sexy for a wedding.”

Another chimed in saying: “You look great! However I echo the other sentiments of it being way too tight for a wedding. It would give the main character a kinda vibe. Size up if you can.”
