I fell for a killer behind bars – he might never get out and we can’t touch, but it’s made me value sex more
Kat revealed how this relationship differs from others she has had
A WOMAN has revealed that she fell for a convicted killer while on a visit to a prison, but struggles with rules that mean she can't touch him whilst they're together.
Kat Emerick met Etienne Michael Moore whilst she was volunteering in the maximum security prison that he has been living in since 1999.

She often goes to visit her man in prison, in California but is unhappy with the prison's guidelines on what she can wear and do during visits.
Speaking to the SoftWhiteUnderbelly podcast, she revealed: “The visits are annoying because first you have to like get past the COs (Corrections Officers) at the front counter.
"Nothing you wear is ever acceptable, so I just have to wear baggy clothes otherwise they nitpick you."
Moore is serving a life sentence, without the possibility of parole after being found guilty of the murders of two women, Laurie Myles and Talkin Tarkhanian.

Discussing the first time they met, Kat said: "I went to volunteer with a friend of mine's group – they do basketball tournaments in prison.
"Each yard will have a team and they practice for months.
“I went in with them because I love playing basketball and I also went in for my own personal healing experience.”
Kat shared that when she was 14, she was groomed by a pimp and forced in to prostitution, and wants to overcome this trauma by confronting men who had committed similar crimes.

She said: "There are people in there that have committed assault, rape, all kinds of things – so I think putting myself in that situation was kind of cathartic for me.”
During the tournament, Kat couldn't keep her eyes off 6"5 Moore, who she spoke to briefly during the game.

After researching him at home, Kat became convinced he was innocent, and started to call him and send him regular letters.
The pair are now in love, however, Kat said that she struggles with rules that mean they can't be intimate when they are together during prison visits.
She said: "You’re punished for showing affection. I would never be sexual obviously.
"There’s kids in the visiting room, there’s families.
"I would never do that but it reminds you that human affection is a luxury.”
Kat revealed that the relationship she has with Moore is different to anything she has experienced previously.
She said: “In my previous relationships there’s always physicality pretty early on.
”I think that comes from my past and feeling that sex is something that is super important.
“I feel like I have to prove myself in some way or give them sex to see if they really want to be with me or maybe if it’s good enough they'll stay and deal with the mental s*** that I have going on.

“But with him I don't have that option – there’s no physical anything.”
