BLUE Lights fans were left 'screaming' at their screens as the second series kicked off.
The smash-hit crime drama, which is set in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is back on BBC One.
Stars of the show Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson are also back at helm.
During the first episode viewers were brought forward as the coppers were officially a year into their jobs.
While tackling a drug-fuelled crime gang the team inadvertently ended up in a loyalist estate.
The explosive first episode also saw a violent clash put Stevie and Grace's working relationship at risk.
Blue Lights viewers were left gripped by the episode - as some were 'screaming' at their televisions.
Taking to social media, one fan commented: "Tense complicated relationships, great plotting, nice pacing, wicked dialogue and clearly defined characters - Blue Lights has it all."
A second wrote: "Brilliant actors, wonderful setting, super script and storylines. Recently watched the first series which confirmed my view that it's the best drama for years. Reminds me of how I felt watching the initial outing of Line of Duty."
"Seriously. Blue Lights is EXCEPTIONAL television, screaming at the scenes," said a third.
While a fourth commented: "Lovely to have Blue Lights back. Gives a sense of the real problems facing the police in modern UK society."
Last month it was revealed Blue Lights had already been recommissioned for a third and fourth series before season two even aired.
Co-creators and executive producers Stephen Wright and Louise Gallagher previously said: "A two-series recommission is a staggering vote of confidence in Blue Lights – the writers, the cast, the crew and the entire production team.
"The BBC have been exceptional partners who have helped us elevate the show.
"A big thank you from everyone in the Blue Lights team for the faith and support given to our show; we are working with the best people.
