SPRINGTIME on the Farm fans have called out a major change that has 'ruined' the Helen Skelton show.

The Channel 5 programme returned for a new series last night, with Helen once again joined by co-host Jules Hudson.

The duo were back on Cannon Hall Farm in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and viewers got to see some lambing, a segment on cows and a vet talking about wild tigers.

Then in one sad segment, Helen followed the story of a donkey who had lost its foal during a stillbirth.

However, viewers quickly noticed that the show was no longer being broadcast live, and they weren't happy about it.

Taking to X - formerly Twitter - one wrote: "Hate the fact that #SpringtimeOnTheFarm is not live - it just does not have the same feel.

"I love you @HelenSkelton and @channel5_tv but it’s just not the same."

Another added: "#SpringtimeOnTheFarm Live ain't live... Links are all prerecorded. It doesn't have the right vibe if it's not live."

A third tweeted: "Can someone tell me why #SpringtimeOnTheFarm is not the same, I miss the jeopardy feeling of the live show like Winter."

Meanwhile, it was revealed last month that the future of Helen's travel show with Dan Walker was up in the air.

Dan & Helen's Pennine Adventure was a hit with fans when it launched on Channel 5 last year.

The series saw the presenters - who are close pals - head off as they explored Britain's mountains.

However, despite being a fan-favourite, The Sun understands Dan and Helen are yet to hear if the show will be back.

Execs at Channel 5 are dragging their heels on whether to renew or cancel the series.

But the pairs on air chemistry and banter together could lead them into fronting another show entirely.

Dan and Helen previously issued a plea to fans over the fate of their series last September.

They urged viewers to contact Channel 5 directly with good feedback to convince them to commission a second instalment.

Springtime on the Farm airs every night this week at 8pm on Channel 5.
