KATY Perry has suffered a wardrobe malfunction during the latest live episode on American Idol.
The American Idol judge took cover behind a table when her top suddenly broke off during Roman Collins' performance.

The crowd lost it after Roman performed It's a Man's Man's Man's World by James Brown, however, they went wild for another reason thanks to Katy's blunder.
"Katy, don't cut yourself!" host Ryan Seacrest, 49, told the hitmaker when he noticed her struggling with her top, which featured a sharp ensemble.
"That song... um... broke my top off... I guess it is a woman's world!" Katy yelled, as her co-judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie were taken aback.
"Ratings, ratings, ratings!" Luke, 47, joked as Katy, 39, quickly hid behind the judges table before pulling down the microphone to speak again.

"Here we come, ratings!" Luke said, and Katy added, "It's a family show!"
When things settled a bit, Luke told Roman, "You literally have the ability to blow the roof off the place..."
"Or a top!" Katy interjected.
"I think Katy Perry just had a wardrobe malfunction!" one fan responded on X, formerly Twitter.

Minutes earlier, Katy had taken to Instagram to show off her outfit, designed by Kate Barton.
"If you see a shark you’re left brained, if you see Idol tonight you’re my bestie," the singer captioned the post which put her odd top and leather pants on display.
Throughout the American Idol episode, some fans compared Katy's look to a "jet plane."
This is not the first time that Katy's choice of outfit has created buzz, as on Sunday night the performer turned heads once again.

Katy wore a floor-length black sheer dress which included a silver criss-cross design.
The dress also featured huge gray and black pom-poms, and they resided down her left side.
"... Luke said I look like the inside of a car wash," Katy said during the show, but fans were also not feeling it.
"You are stunning Katy but this dress ... honestly don't know what to think," one wrote on X at the time, and another reacted, "That's quite the dress ..."
GOODBYE KATY
Katy has caused a hoopla ever since first joining the popular singing competition as a judge six years ago, however, her time has come to an end.
Back in February, the I Kissed A Girl singer revealed she is done with the series.
"So I think this will probably be my last season for Idol," she shared during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
"I love Idol so much. It’s connected me with the heart of America, but I need to feel that pulse of my own beat," she explained, and added she wants to "go and see the world and maybe bring new music."

The news brought plenty of replacement suggestions, including Miley Cyrus.
"They are looking at several options on how to replace Katy," an insider exclusively told The U.S. Sun.
Notable names like Jennifer "JLo" Lopez and Shania Twain have been mentioned, because "... they have worked on the show before and are 'safe' faces, but there is a push for Miley," the source explained.
"Several producers feel she would be 'perfect' to judge the show and get headlines like Katy," the insider shared, and added that Miley's popularity would reel in younger viewers.
However, the source explained that ABC producers have "concerns" over Miley's risqué behavior.
Despite the drama, producers are still hoping Katy sticks with the show.

"While publicly Katy is saying she is leaving the show, there is nothing stopping her from changing her mind," the source explained.
No word yet on who will be replacing Katy when she bows out officially.
