The move would make the coffee house Octopus’ largest business customer in the UK.

And it's not just customers who with reap the rewards of the new partnership as Octopus Energy and Caffè Nero employees benefit too.

The £1-a-Day Challenge: Surviving the Cost-of-Living Crisis

More than 1.5 million Octopus customers have already signed up to the popular scheme.

Rebecca Dibb-Simkin, Chief Product Officer at Octopus Energy, said the company are "thrilled" at the new partnership.

She added: "Selfishly - I’m also looking forward to Caffè Nero treats in every Octopus office!"

Caffè Nero is the latest brand partner of Octoplus and follows hot on the heels of its latest additions ODEON, the National Trust and the National Trust for Scotland.

To be eligible for Octoplus customers have to receive electricity from Octopus Energy, have an operational electric smart meter (i.e. receiving half hourly readings from it) and pay via Direct Debit.

Customers seem satisfied following the roll out of the new deals - with some taking to social media to express their feelings.

One person commented on a post announcing the offers: "I’ve been with Octopus since Nov 2020 and am very happy with them .

"I’ve recently had 2 free drinks and a free Sausage roll from Greggs c/o Octopus which I’ve never had from any other previous energy supplier."

Another said: "Thanks handy to know."

In March we told how customers are raving about a new rewards scheme that entitles them to a free Greggs every week.

Eagled-eyed bargain hunters spotted the deal online and quickly shared it on social media.

The cheeky offer lets Octopus customers nab a quick Greggs on-the-house.

Current customers are already joyfully sharing their free coffee and sausage rolls, but some only knew about it when spotting other Octopus customers getting the free food while in one of the bakery's branches.
