Aldi, the Which? Cheapest Supermarket of the Year champion, has announced its highly anticipated Spring Summer Rosé range – with prices starting from as little as £5.99, leaving many very impressed.

And there’s a £8.99 buy that’s been hailed as a dupe for the much-loved Whispering Angel tipple - so if you're on a budget, but don’t want to compromise on taste, then this is for you.

Posting on Aldi’s official social media account, under the username @aldiuk, the much-loved retailer shared a snap of the new product - the La Bonne Vie rosé wine.

Alongside the post, the chain penned: “THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

“What better way to celebrate than opening a bottle of our La Bonne Vie.

“This pale pink rosé has whispers of red currant, cranberry and watermelon.

“Head in store to pick up yours now!”

This new wine, which is strikingly similar to pricey Provence styles and is suitable for vegans, has even been praised by a wine expert, Sam Caporn.

The wine pro, who is a member of the exclusive Institute of Masters of Wine, Sam explained: “Shoppers should look at moving away from pricey Provence and switching to off-the-grid French regions such as IGP Pays d’Oc or Coteaux de Béziers.

“Wines are made in the same way and from the same grapes, but without the expensive price tag.”

The bargain buys landing in Aldi's middle aisle THIS WEEK - and parents will be thrilled with the school run essentials

Following a blind taste test, Sam claimed that Aldi’s Specially Selected La Bonne Vie Rosé (£8.99, 75cl) was comparable to Whispering Angel.

He revealed: “These alternatives are every bit as delicious – dry, pale and delicate – and in fact, even more so in my opinion, when I tasted them blind.”

A suitable comparison to the popular Whispering Angel

Sam Caporn, wine expert

He described Aldi’s new offering as “tight and crisp” and claimed that “this rosé is for fans who like their pink to be pale, dry, and full of that refreshment factor!”

Following this, he added: “This rosé ‘whispers’ subtle red fruit flavours of redcurrant and cranberry followed by watermelon. A suitable comparison to the popular Whispering Angel.”

So if the £23.99 price tag of Whispering Angel sends shivers down your spine, you’ll be thrilled to know that you’ll save £15 thanks to this cheap find.

'DUPE ALERT'

Instagram users were clearly impressed by the new wine, as Aldi’s post was shared just two days ago, but has quickly amassed 2,580 likes.

Savvy shoppers flocked to the comments to share their thoughts, as many were desperate to give the high-street buy a try.

When's the best time to shop at Aldi?

WHEN it comes to shopping at Aldi, the best time to do so depends on what you want to buy.

For reduced items - when shops open

Red sticker items are rare at Aldi's 830 UK stores, but the supermarket says that none of its food goes to waste so there are some to be found - if you're quick.

A spokesman for the supermarket said: "All items are reduced to 50 per cent of the recommend sales price before stores open on their best before or use by dates."

That means you have the best chance of finding reduced food items if you go into stores as soon as it opens.

Opening times vary by shop but a majority open from 7am or 8am. You can find your nearest store's times by using the supermarket's online shop finder tool.

For Specialbuys - Thursdays and Sundays

Specialbuys are Aldi's weekly collection of items that it doesn't normally sell, which can range from pizza ovens to power tools.

New stock comes into stores every Thursday and Sunday, so naturally, these are the best days to visit for the best one-off special deals.

For an even better chance of bagging the best items, head there for your local store's opening time.

You don't have to head into stores to bag a Specialbuy, though.

They also go on sale online, usually at midnight on Thursday and Sunday, and you can pre-order them up to a week in advance.

As long as you spend at least £25, you'll get the items delivered for free.

Remember: once they're gone, they're gone, so if there's something you really want, visit as early as possible

A third commented: “This looks delicious.”

Whilst someone else beamed: “Dupe alert.”

At the same time, many users tagged their friends and loved ones to alert them to this dupe buy.
