FOR 15 years, Horrible Histories has been entertaining youngsters with comedy sketches and parody tunes that bring to life major events of the past.

But aside from the fun, the CBBC show ­– based on the book series by Terry Deary ­– has featured guest appearances from a host of famous faces.

Since it first aired in 2009, the kids’ show has seen Robert Webb play architect Sir Christopher Wren, while Mel Giedroyc took part in a historical parody of the Great British Bake Off.

In 2015, Rowan Atkinson danced and sang as King Henry VIII, while Game of Thrones’ Gemma Whelan played Anne Boleyn.

First Dates’ Fred Sirieix has also made an appearance, as well as telly judge Rob Rinder and comedian Rosie Jones.

Other big names seen in the show include comic Stephen Fry, England women’s football star Jill Scott and Death in Paradise favorite Ben Miller.

A special 15th-anniversary episode of Horrible Histories, filmed at the Tower of London, will air on CBBC on April 16.

Previously, author Terry Deary has written Horrible Histories: The Worst In The World, where he awards gold, silver and bronze medals for the very worst in lots of categories.
