BREAK THE BANK (2.20 Newmarket, nap)

He showed plenty of promise on three maiden runs last season for Andrew Balding. He finished with a third over seven furlongs at Newbury in September before returning last month with an easy Kempton success. That was his handicap debut and he made light work of his opening mark of 75. He’s up 8lb for that but he could easily be in three figures by the end of the campaign.

CREATIVE STORY (4.05 Newmarket, nb)

This son of Too Darn Hot made a good start when a close-up second on debut at Kempton last time. He showed lots of pace on the front end so this drop in distance won’t be an issue. You would expect plenty of improvement from Charlie Appleby’s colt who will be at home on this decent ground for his first run on turf.

DARTMOOR PIRATE (4.15 Ffos Las, treble)

He was a good fourth in a much hotter contest at Sandown last time when finishing strongly. He takes a drop back in grade and should take all the beating. He has scored with cut in the ground so more rain won’t be an issue.

DYRHOLAEY (6.30 Newcastle, Lucky 15)

Has won both starts so far with plenty in the tank. He kicked off with a green win at Chelmsford before leaving that form firmly behind at Wolverhampton last month. He showed a sharp turn of pace there and five furlongs will be fine.
