SOMETHING GROSS

I got the grossest wedding gift from my husband’s ‘creepy’ groomsman – I was literally beside myself when I opened it

Some people didn't even think she should send a thank you note

ONE bewildered bride was not feeling very grateful after receiving a particularly gross wedding gift.

Forget something borrowed and something blue - she now had something truly repulsive to add to her collection.

It was safe to say that this was one out-of-the-box she would have preferred to keep inside.

GROSS GIFT

While her husband's groomsman had always given her "creepy" vibes," a Reddit user never could have imagined what he brought for the couple on their big day.

"I just opened the gift he gave to us and literally am beside myself," she wrote in a post.

In the note that he wrote to them, the groomsman described her husband as being a "gross dude in college."

"He always left his clipped nails all over the dorm. Guess who has been collecting them for eight years, almost as long as you two have been dating?" he wrote.

He explained how he had even added in something special - some of his own nails to form a "brick structure."

"The hardness is because I included concrete glue," he said.

While she was horrified by the ghastly gift, her husband's college friend thought it was a unique memento - for multiple reasons.

Not only would her husband not be able to forget his good buddy, but she would be the "only bride in the US that has a fingernail paperweight."

"Hope you guys enjoy the laugh," he wrote.

DIDN'T NAIL IT

While she wished this was all a "joke," the gift that had left her reeling was indeed very real.

"This is the grossest wedding gift I could even fathom and it's on my kitchen table," she said.

"A literal aged yellow nail fell off and onto my floor," she added.

"It's not funny and I honestly don't know what my husband will say."

He definitely didn't nail this one despite how many nails he used to make up his gift.

NO THANK YOU

Other Reddit users who were also horrified by the unusual present explained how they would have handled the shocking situation.

"Don't send a thank you note. Just ignore it entirely and if he ever asks about it, act confused and tell him you don't remember receiving a gift from him," wrote one user.

"But keep photos just in case this weirdo decides to marry. Let his future spouse know exactly how sinister he is," said another reader.

"Eight years is a disturbing - and disgusting - commitment to toenails," she added.

Still, others enjoyed the story.

"Yeah, this is disgusting, but it was pretty hilarious to read," shared one user.

Regardless of whether a gift is "gross" or not, most people would still rather get cold hard cash.
