FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) — A Florence man was arrested after police say he resisted, struck and bit an officer while he was being taken into custody.

The Florence Police Department (FPD) said that officers responded to a domestic violence incident at a home on South Orleans Street on Saturday, April 13.

James Limon was outside the home, “screaming, causing a disturbance,” according to FPD.

The department said that while he was being taken into custody, Limon resisted and one officer was hit in the face and bit on the arm, breaking the skin. That officer was taken to the North Alabama Medical Center, treated and eventually released.

Limon was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, third-degree domestic violence, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was taken to the Lauderdale County Jail with a bond set at $8,000.
