Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery announced a joint streaming service combining Disney+, Hulu, and Max, set to launch this summer. The service will feature a range of options and franchises including ABC, CNN, DC, Discovery, Food Network, FX, HBO, HGTV, Marvel, Pixar, and Searchlight, Los Tiempos reported.

Subscribers will have two options – one with advertising and one without – accessible through both companies’ websites. Disney will act as the distributor and will pay a corresponding percentage of the fees to Warner Bros. Discovery.

Joe Earley, President of Disney Entertainment’s Direct to Consumer division, emphasized the focus on subscribers, promising access to successful films, originals, and extensive libraries of top brands and streaming entertainment. The pricing, yet to be finalized, is expected to offer a discount compared to individual services.

This collaboration marks the latest alliance between the two conglomerates, who previously partnered for a cable television package. Additionally, both companies joined forces with Fox for a sports streaming platform named ‘Spulu,’ set to debut this fall. Disney, with its acquisitions of Hulu and ESPN+, demonstrates significant experience in the streaming market, aligning complementary services increasingly with Disney+.
