This week, the Biden Administration confirmed the implementation of a U.S. arms embargo against Israel. The embargo includes blocking the delivery of various weapons, ranging from 2,000-pound bombs to Joint Direct Attack Munitions, essentially preventing Israel from acquiring both large and small bombs, as well as smart bombs, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The Administration justifies its actions by citing concerns about the potential use of these weapons in a wider Israeli attack on the Hamas stronghold of Rafah. This decision comes amidst ongoing tensions in the region, particularly in the aftermath of conflicts between Israel and Hamas.

Critics argue that the embargo undermines Israel’s ability to defend itself against security threats, particularly from groups like Hamas. Additionally, it raises questions about the nature of the U.S.-Israel relationship and the Biden Administration’s approach to handling conflicts in the Middle East.
