Arab Development Fund Strengthens Partnerships at Key Dialogue

The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) participated in the recent Arab-DAC Dialogue held in Kuwait. The two-day event served as a platform for Arab and developed nations to discuss and solidify collaboration on global development issues.

This year's dialogue focused on enhancing the quality and accessibility of development finance. Participants explored methods to address a wider range of development needs in a shifting global landscape. Two key themes guided the discussions:financing for sustainable development and fostering stronger partnerships for better results.

The Arab-DAC Dialogue is a crucial platform for shaping joint development agendas, particularly in light of upcoming international events like the Summit of the Future, COP-29, and FFD-4. The dialogue allows Arab and developed nations to align priorities and establish actionable initiatives that can influence global development processes.

Since its inception in 2009, the Arab-DAC Dialogue has played a vital role in facilitating knowledge exchange and collaboration on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development's participation in the dialogue reflects its commitment to driving positive change and promoting inclusive development worldwide.

The dialogue specifically addressed the need to increase the quantity of development finance available. Participants explored innovative financing mechanisms to bridge the gap and ensure sufficient resources are available for critical development projects. A particular focus was placed on mobilizing resources from the private sector to complement public funding and maximize development impact.

The discussions also emphasized the importance of effective partnerships between Arab and developed nations. Participants acknowledged that stronger collaboration is essential to tackle complex development challenges and achieve the SDGs. Sharing best practices, fostering mutual learning, and establishing joint working groups were identified as key ways to strengthen partnerships.

The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development's participation in the Arab-DAC Dialogue underscores its commitment to international development cooperation. By collaborating with Arab and developed nations, ADFD plays a vital role in promoting sustainable development and improving the lives of people around the world.
