According to the Italian Corriere della Sera, NATO will not be sending troops to Ukraine. A declaration with this provision will be signed at the NATO summit in Washington in July: “no boots on the ground.”

Additionally, the summit will decide that coordination of Western assistance to Ukraine will be transferred from the United States to NATO headquarters.

“There is a practical reason for this step: 99% of the materials delivered to Kiev come from 32 partners of the Atlantic Alliance. But there is also a political explanation: the actions of the Western bloc will be more unanimous both in the eyes of national public opinion and in the eyes of Vladimir Putin,” the newspaper writes.

It notes that overall, “the strategy dictated by the United States remains unchanged,” but there is preparation for a “change of pace.”

“Otherwise, NATO continues to strengthen its eastern flank. In a few weeks, the Alliance will be able to count on 300,000 soldiers ready to be redeployed along the ridge extending from the Baltics to Bulgaria,” writes Corriere della Sera.

It is worth reminding that Ukraine hopes to receive an invitation to NATO at this summit. Although Secretary-General Stoltenberg has directly stated that this will not happen.
