On Tuesday, May 7, Chairman of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), Xi Jinping, arrived in Serbia. He was welcomed by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and an impressive delegation from the country’s top leadership, Xinhua reported.

The visit of the Chinese leader coincided with the 25th anniversary of the NATO bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade.

“At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Vučić, Chairman Xi Jinping began a state visit to Serbia on May 7 local time. This visit marks Chairman Xi Jinping’s second visit to Serbia in eight years,” the publication stated.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs claims that the meeting “will be an important milestone in improving and revitalizing Sino-Serbian relations.” The heads of states will discuss the current global and regional situation, progress in international relations, and the strengthening of bilateral ties.
