Starting in July, deliveries of the single-seat electric aircraft, Helix, are scheduled to commence in the USA. It can be purchased for $190,000, and no pilot’s license is required to operate it, Techeblog reports.

The electric aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing capability can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h and fly up to 32 km on a single charge. If deliveries do proceed, the company Pivotal will become the first to produce a serial personal electric aircraft.

The first commercial sale of Helix took place in October 2023. The first four manufactured electric aircraft and two flight simulators were sent to the US Air Force Research Laboratory (ARFL) in February 2024.

Earlier reports indicated that the Chinese company BYD surpassed the American Tesla for the first time in the global electric vehicle market. Tesla’s sales growth rate last year was 38%, while BYD’s was 62%.

In terms of total sales volume, BYD (“Build Your Dreams”) has already outpaced Musk’s corporation since it produces not only strictly electric vehicles but also hybrids combining an electric motor and an internal combustion engine.
