Starting from Monday, Turkey has initiated large-scale naval exercises, which will take place around its coasts, according to Anadolu. The DENİZKURDU-II/2024 exercises are being conducted to evaluate the quality of command, enhance the operational readiness of the exercise participants, and improve their coordination.

The maneuvers will be held in the Black Sea, the Sea of Marmara, the Aegean Sea, and the eastern part of the Mediterranean Sea. A total of 100 ships of various types, 8 submarines, 39 aircraft, 16 helicopters, 28 drones, and 7 naval drones, as well as 15,000 personnel, are involved.

Overall, the exercises will last from May 6 to May 18, with the most active actions planned for May 13-16. Military exercises involving 15 countries have also begun in Estonia on Monday.

Large-scale exercises are also being conducted in Lithuania, where a “training” curfew will be in effect in certain areas of Vilnius and Kaunas on Wednesday night.
