After hours of searching, a cruise ship passenger who went overboard has been found dead in the waters off Australia. The man reportedly fell into the water for unknown reasons in the early hours of Monday near Sydney Harbor, according to Australian media citing the police. Numerous rescue teams, including boats and a helicopter, searched for the missing person for over six hours. His body was eventually discovered in the morning.

The cruise ship, “P&O’s Pacific Adventure,” was returning to Sydney after a three-day tour to the famous Moreton Island off the southeast coast of Queensland. The cruise line described it as a “very distressing day for guests and crew.”

Another cruise scheduled for the ship later in the afternoon was postponed. The police have launched an investigation.
