Two churches in the Greek town of Vrontados participate in an Orthodox Easter tradition by firing rockets at each other, BBC reported.

This event, known as the “rocket war,” has its roots in the 1800s during Ottoman rule in Greece, but now, instead of cannons, rockets are used for the spectacle.

Despite the intense rocket exchange, Easter Mass continues inside the churches, showcasing a blend of tradition and modernity. Metal barriers are erected in parts of the area to mitigate fire damage and ensure safety.
