Police in the Australian city of Perth shot dead a 16-year-old Muslim teenager who attacked a man with a kitchen knife. The victim was hospitalized, and his condition is stable. The main version of investigators is terrorism, as reported by ABC News.

Authorities report that the youth had been communicating with radical Islamists online. The day before the attack, warnings were received from concerned members of the Muslim community. However, the attack has not yet been officially recognized as an act of terrorism.

At the scene of the incident, a 30-year-old man with a knife wound to the back was found. He was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition, according to the police statement.

Police and agents of the Australian Security and Intelligence Organization are conducting a counterterrorism investigation in the city of Sydney on the east coast after another 16-year-old boy stabbed an Assyrian Orthodox bishop and priest in a church on April 15th.

The boy has been charged with committing a terrorist act. Six of his alleged associates have also been charged with various crimes, including conspiring to participate in or plan a terrorist act. They all remain in custody.
