Law enforcement forced nearly a hundred students to leave the premises of Sciences Po University in Paris, where they had been staging a pro-Palestinian demonstration since the previous day, according to AFP.

On Friday morning, police entered the Sciences Po campus to expel the protesting students who had been there since Thursday conducting a protest in support of Palestinians.

The main university buildings remained closed by the administration’s decision due to the protest. In the morning, the so-called “Palestinian Committee,” an initiative of the protesters, announced the rejection of a compromise agreement offered by the administration.

Police reported around 13:00 that they had “evacuated” 91 participants of the protest, and the operation proceeded without incidents.

The committee of protesting students considers the reaction disproportionate. Pro-Palestinian actions have spread to several branches of Sciences Po across France and have focused primarily on this university; there was also a protest at the Sorbonne.
