Sony is interested in acquiring Paramount for 600 billion Czech koruna, as reported by Novinky. Japanese company Sony Pictures and investment fund Apollo Global Management are offering $26 billion (approximately 600 billion CZK) for the American studio Paramount.

This offer exceeds the current estimated value of Paramount, which stands at $22 billion (511 billion CZK). Paramount’s stocks responded to this news with a thirteen percent increase to $13.86.

In the event of acquisition, Sony Pictures will become the majority owner of Paramount Global, while Apollo fund will own a minority stake.

At the same time, there is speculation about a possible merger between Paramount and Skydance, but the deadline for concluding this deal is fast approaching.

Paramount Global includes the film and television studio Paramount Pictures, the CBS television network, and the Paramount+ streaming service. Paramount studio is responsible for popular film series such as Indiana Jones, Terminator, Mission Impossible, and Top Gun.
