Lindsey Graham turns over phone amid concerns of a hack from Schumer impersonator

Sen. Lindsey Graham relinquished his cellphone to authorities after communicating with someone who impersonated Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

“The Sergeant at Arms is investigating a possible hack of Senator Graham’s phone,” his spokesperson, Taylor Reidy, said in a statement obtained by The Post.

The Senate’s Sergeant at Arms oversees cybersecurity in the upper chamber. On Monday, the Sergeant at Arms reportedly warned members of a phishing scheme.

Graham (R-SC), 68, recounted the ordeal during a discussion about artificial intelligence at the Hill & Valley Forum on Capitol Hill Wednesday.

“You know, my phone is in the hands of the FBI now,” Graham said at the event. “So I get a message, I think, from Schumer, it ain’t from Schumer, and next thing you know, my phone’s, I don’t know what.”

“Anything you can create apparently can be hacked.”

The FBI declined to comment when asked by The Post.

Schumer (D-NY), 73, is known for using a vintage flip phone.

That used to be the case for Graham. Then, in 2015, former President Donald Trump, 77, revealed his cellphone number to the world as the two bitterly sparred on the campaign trail.

Graham later cut a video of himself flexing some samurai skills while dramatically obliterating his old flip phone, slashing it with a kitchen knife, burning it and tossing it into the blender, among other acts of destruction.

Notably, it is possible to change phone numbers without destroying the original cellphone.

Graham then got an iPhone.

Graham has since mended fences with Trump and emerged as a key ally in the Senate.
