After years in development, Prime Video‘s adaptation of The Idea of You is finally here!
The cult-favorite romance novel by actress Robinne Lee may-or-may-not-be a Harry Styles fanfiction, but nevertheless follows a successful art gallery owner and mother, Solène (Anne Hathaway), who begins an unexpected romance with the lead singer (Nicholas Galitzine) of “the hottest boyband on the planet” August Moon, who also happens to be 16 years younger than her.
To celebrate the movie’s release, Amazon has put together a curated storefront to shop all things The Idea of You; in addition to fashion edits inspired by Hayes and Solène, there are collections of sunglasses by Illesteva and jewelry by Local Eclectic inspired by the film, and links to pre-order the movie’s soundtrack on vinyl and CD.
(Fun fact: the August Moon songs were written by Savan Kotecha and Carl Falk, who wrote, among other pop hits, One Direction’s breakout single “What Makes You Beautiful.”)
Of course, the storefront also includes the book. A new paperback edition was just released, but what if we told you there was a way to read The Idea of You for free (!) on Amazon?
That’s exactly what we’re telling you, so read on for everything you need to know to read The Idea of You for free.
How to Read The Idea of You For Free:
The Idea of You is currently available on both of Amazon’s reading subscription platforms: Kindle Unlimited (e-book) and Audible (audiobook). Both offer a one-month free trial.

Kindle Unlimited, after the free trial, costs $11.99/month, and you can borrow up to 20 eligible e-books at a time. However, once you cancel your subscription, you lose access to those books.

The Premium Plus plan’s free trial gives you one credit to purchase any book on Audible with, but once the month is up, the book is yours to keep.
